What a year it’s been! From Food Bank tabling to local brewery Energy Prize Happy Hours, the Year of Energy Awards to the big Saving Energy Earth Day party at Boundary Bay Brewery, Solarize Whatcom to Kilowatt Kitty showing up all over the City – at the Farmers Market, Downtown Sounds, businesses around town, and on the side of a giant Sanitary Services Truck, the overpouring work and support from all of the Bellingham Energy Prize Partners and energy audits and retrofits that were undertaken, the support of the Bellingham business community, and the support of our residents – we have done so much!
Over 4,000 of you signed up and created your own personal energy saving plan and so many others sent us your ideas for what Bellingham should do with $5M winnings if we win. Speaking of which…we feel good about finishing strong and all of the energy savings we’ve accomplished over the past year. We truly believe Bellingham has an amazing shot at winning this prize, and also believes that regardless of how the competition turns out we’ve accomplished some serious energy savings that will have a big impact for our City in the years to come.
Together we’ve proven just how much we can do when it comes to energy savings. We are leaders here and can’t wait to see what else we’ll do in the coming years! Join us in congratulating everyone who participated and stay tuned, we’ll share any competition details as soon as we get them.
